Why everything runs locally
Contracts, ID photos, screenshots, chat logs: a lot of the files we handle every day are private. Most online tools upload them to a server first, and you never know how long they are kept or who can see them. These tools work differently.

All processing happens in your browser. Open the Network panel in your browser's developer tools and you won't see a single file upload.

FAQ
Are my files uploaded?
No. Once a tool's page has loaded, all processing happens in your browser. Some tools download program files from a CDN on first use, such as the OCR language pack or the background-removal model, but those are downloads of code; your files are never sent anywhere. The privacy policy lists every third-party service involved.
Is it really free? How is it paid for?
Yes, free and unlimited. Pages on the bodhi.tools hub may show Google ads to cover running costs; the six tool pages currently show no ads.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no upload limit, because nothing is uploaded. How large a file you can process depends on your device's memory; very large files are slow on phones.
Which browsers are supported?
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox. Background removal and OCR are demanding, so a computer works better than a phone for those.
Can I host the tools myself?
Yes. Each tool is an open-source static site. Build it with the steps in its README and deploy it to Cloudflare Pages, Netlify, GitHub Pages or any static host.
